Are you caught up in the Olympic spirit yet? I can’t get enough of it. I love watching the events, getting caught up in the back stories, celebrating the victories, and mourning the disappointments. The athletes are amazing and inspiring.

But non-athletes are amazing and inspiring too, which got me to thinking: Where are the medals for the everyday people who quietly reach for excellence, working hard to achieve goals that are otherwise unnoticed?

Maybe it’s up to you and me to notice. Today, let somebody know that you’re proud of them. Thank them for always going above and beyond what is expected. Reward them for hard work that is otherwise unrewarding. Congratulate them on a personal victory. Celebrate their determination.

Trust me, it will make you feel like gold!
