Sweet Valentine Giveaway

By Mrs. Fields

When it comes to expressing love, we all have our own way of doing it. Some people use poetry, some people use song. Personally, I find that using premium chocolate, rich vanilla, sugar and farm-fresh eggs works very well. But don’t take my word for it. For Valentine’s Day, I’m giving away three $30 gift certificates to MrsFields.com!

How do you enter? Simply leave a comment answering this question: What is your favorite love song?

And in the mean time, browse some fabulous gifts. I’ve given you a few of my favorite ideas here and here, but feel free to get your own inspiration here.

(One entry per person, please. Comments will be accepted until midnight, Sunday, January 31st. Winners will be randomly selected and announced Monday, February 1st.)

Oh wow, this is really hard. I love a lot of love songs but “She’s in Love with the Boy” is really good. It’s not a total love song but it’s about two young kids wanting to be together forever and I think it’s just adorable. :)

“Send me a Song” — reminds me of the first couple of years of my husband’s and my relationship. We were apart for 2 years, 6 months after we met. We’ve been married now for 32 years. He was worth the wait.

“True Companion” by Mark Cohen. My boyfriend at the time picked it as what he thought should be our wedding song… if he didn’t become a priest. True story: he had applied to Catholic seminary 3 weeks before we met, so he went off to seminary after we dated for 3 months. He came home a year-and-a-half later — we danced to “True Companion” on our wedding day, Jan. 18, 2003.

The Luckiest by Ben Folds. In three verses it looks at true love from three totally different persectives – the mistakes and failures that brought us to “the one”, is our destiny together so strong that we would know even in totally different circumstances, and the testament to a long life of love when an elderly spouse dies soon after their beloved. It is a gorgeous love song.

Thirteen by Big Star, it’s about being thirteen and asking a girl out. It was “our” song back in 1993, of course she dumped me but the song’s still great. And there’s another beautiful love song called The Last by The Replacements. It’s not a typical love song but you gotta check it out ’cause the lyrics are so true to life. And then there’s the song Days by the Kinks that’s about a love that’s in the past but it’s saying/being thankful. So I’m gonna choose Days ’cause no matter how things turned out for you or me I hope that we can all say, thank you for the days…
